Branding

Creating visual experiences to
help you reach your goals.

First take a look at all the components of branding

  • Branding Research

Whether it’s social media, photography, websites, print, email campaigns or branding, I know what works and take the time to research your market before we even get started. If you have research already, even better. I do find that extra research is often needed, due to target markets that might not have been considered.

  • Colour Selection

Strong colour choices, a branded image design and solid typography forms the basis of my design process. You might already have brand colours, I can work with that. Sometimes it’s a matter of moving the colours around and pairing them up with the right typography and branded image style.

  • Typography

Typography is in an integral part of my branding process. The right typography can lift a brand up and make a website standout from the overcrowded market.

  • Images

When it comes to images, your brand must be in alignment. I choose and manipulate images to reflect and lift up your brand. The importance of well selected images on websites is of the utmost importance.

Tone of voice

When it comes to tone of voice, it is important for branding to adhere to the outlined tone of voice to create a sense of branding structure throughout your company. Is it playful? More corporate? Are you dealing with serious issues? These are all things to consider when selecting your tone of voice.

Brand Personality

My biggest goal is to create business branding that shines with the same personality as you, and for your products and services to speak to your target audience.

Branding Process

  • Research

This part is super important in establishing the direction you want your visual identity to go. After answering a set of questions, including; Your main business value proposition, the type of clients you want to attract, how you do business, trust indicators and growth expectations, I will formulate a mini competitor analysis and provide some visual inspiration for you to make sure we’re going in the right direction.

  • Brand Colour Scheme

Colour is one of the most important aspects of brand identity. I have included it here as the colour scheme can vastly influence the overall brand. After establishing the research direction and you provide me with information, I will suggest a colour scheme. At the finalization of the project, you will receive a file with the colour codes in Hex, CMYK, RGB and if needed, Pantone.

  • Tone of Voice

Getting your brand tone of voice right is paramount as a basis for developing your brand. There is the visual tone of voice and the copy tone of voice that need to be included to ensure your brand voice is succinct and resonates across your internal and external communications.

  • Logo

After finding out which direction you want to go with your brand identity, I will provide three to four different logo options and we can discuss which one you would like to go with. Once a decision is reached and the colour scheme devised, I will provide you with files suitable for all applications and in negative/positive formats, as well as in colour.

  • Visual Branding Style

Dedicating time to decide on and develop your visual branding style will in the long run, help your brand significantly. It will define how your brand is viewed, make sure your brand is recognised, set it apart from the competition and communicate how your company wants to present itself to the greater world.

  • Asset Creation

Creating visual assets that can be incorporated in your marketing, across your social media channels, print materials, event materials, internal company swag and of course, your website.
